Good day everyone,

Here's another coin I would like to have your opinion on, it's the first time I come across a mintage error like this one. Understand it'S not the first time I see a DP error, but it's the first time I see a Narrow Date 1945 50 cent punched over an 1945 Wide Date.

So my question would be, and in this knowing that a punch error is really hard to evaluate in the sense of money value since they are no count out there to know how many of those are really still in circulation and for that reason there's really no value that can be put on these kind of coins. In the end the price is fixed by the buyer and how much he want's this coin, This is also true for any coin for that matter but in this case it's even truer.

Know with all this being said and to your knowledge what kind of extra value I could expect from this kind of error on this specific coin.

It's a narrow date pointed 5/5. I'd say in this condition no premium. Fairly common to find.

i have read that the reason many half varieties aren't listed is because there are sooo many of them..especially regarding this era of George VI. things like your minor re punched digit are not all that rare and I could likely find another example at my LCS's melt bucket. you might have gotten a minor premium but the major rim damage makes this a bullion value coin. I'm sorry I couldn't give you better news,
.

We can't grade it without an obverse picture.

Rim bump doesn't help either.

See page 313 of Charltons 68th 2014 catalogue. Relatively common. The 4 and 5 are both repunched.

Agree, but doubt it matters much on this example, especially with the bump.
