This is what I would consider a "novelty coin".

I collect a little of everything PRE 1964, except ASE's and CML's but my true interest is wanting a roll of Fine/XF FE's. So far I have 41. These were my latest 3. When I started this I was winning FE's for about 25$, NOW they get winning bids of 40$ per coin - I wonder if prices went up or just bidiots wanting them at any price? Usually I put in a fair price and for sure at the end of the auction I'm outbid - what was that saying? "Some kind of people" and their money are soon parted?

Thats really awesome! I always dream about having rolls of really nice coins but I have not started yet. But yeah I know what you mean with the ebay bidding... I definitely like being the seller on that sort of thing though!! Thanks for sharing!

There are a lot of folks who COLLECT a lot more than just one of these areas, myself included.
Primary areas you did not include were ancient (of many genres) and world (of infinite types).

True mox - I didn't give it a thought but I like to collect Gallienus Zoo series ancients too for which I have about 20 - some duplicates.

Out of those categories, I would probably fit in best with the world coin collecting one.

Every coin from everywhere for every year and every mint. :) Not interested in varieties, ancients or errors though.

I collect Australian Decimal and pre Decimal coins along with a few of the earlier "Proclamation" coinage. I also collect US, Canadian, Brit India, NZ, British pre decimal and a few decimals. I also collect some of the NCLT offerings from the Australian and Canadian Mints along with various other coins from different Nations that strike my interest from time to time. I only have 2 ancient's in my collections due solely to the generosity of Sel_961 and that is an area that I will no doubt eventually get into. I also have a small collection of various medallions that I add to from time to time. To sum it up I don't really fit into Any one of the choices in this poll So I didn't vote

Like others have said... I am a type collector that also extends to world crown-sized silver coins. Also I accumulated junk silver too for a rainy day (when silver is $40/oz or higher) :P
