1946 Wheat Penny Mint Mark

I am new to this forum - thank you all for being here and for helping out, if possible.



With the placement of this mark (pictured) almost directly below the '4', I don't see a direct correlation with the 'S', 'D', 'D/S', or either inverted 'S'...Can anybody help identify my coin's major malfunction?

The mintmark on your coin has been damaged. Given the shape and size, it was most likely a D.
