To me, this looks like a long die crack and the beginning of a die break that will result in later coins having a long ring of Cud. It has already made it to the rim above the "ST". It is always interesting to me to see the different ways a die will wear and fail.
Thanks for the pics.

This is not a die crack... it is just Die Deterioration.

I would hold onto this one for now. It might be a struck through debris. Depending it you can see it on the rim and edge of the coin? It may even wrap around on the reverse?

Thanks for the info. There isn't any damage on the edge or reverse.

It wouldn't be damage. It would be something added to the coin during the strike. The ends of the anomaly might show an ending/edge on those areas. A closeup shot might be helpful on on your coin.

While sorting I came across this one again. So I figured I'd add those a close up of the are in question with the reverse.I think it might be PSD now. Your thoughts?

Not an expert, but seems struck that way to me. Wonder if a blanking burr was pushed over the rim during the upset process. Then struck into the coins perimeter. Just a thought. Thanks, Doug.

Looks like as I suspected a piece of debris on the coin. On the reverse on the 'UNI' area on UNITED, it shows a slight wrap around. But most of it is on the obverse die. On the area where the 'UNI' is you might see an extra thickness there on the edge there.

More of an error coin, but not much premium. I would save it in case you find some one interested in small errors. That maybe the crossword puzzle piece he needs.
