so I made one with Lego's But still working on it.

The little webcam I got for 5 bucks, but the quality of the photos it takes are actually not that bad. I can slide the coin in and adjust the focus on the camera itself, but I can adjust the lighting using the dial that is on the USB cable. Not too bad as a temp I guess. Raising and lowering the camera is pretty easy, although I will probably make it stronger by adding another arm in the middle.

Here's a dime that I just snapped. I have to do a little fine tuning with the camera. I have to update the driver software.

Ok, never mind about the cheap little camera.

Switching to using my phone's camera. Much better quality, I can adjust everything on screen and that means clearer pictures. Just making a platform that can hold my phone which will be able to move up and down. Probably will make the "tray" turn 360 degrees so the coin stays in straight.
And on a side note....
Listening to the Ghostbusters theme song and watching those dancing fruits is mesmerizing

Introducing Scott's Lego microscope Version 2.

The phone fits nice and snug so I don't have to worry about it slipping out. Adjusting the focus, zoom, color, and contrast is easily done using the phone's camera. The "tray/slide" can now be rotated 360 degrees. Perfect for taking multiple shots. Attached are photos of the microscope and the coin I used. And anyone wondering what that machine in the background is, it's a vinyl cutter used for decals.

Looking good.

I definitely see myself raiding my son's Lego collection.

Thanks, I've been using Lego's for a number of things lately.
One is an exhaust fan for my laser engraver. The fan is from a gutted computer.
Another Lego thing is a positive/negative tester when I work with electronics. Another one is just a simple USB on/off box. Lego's are a good stress relief.

I built my son a T-Rex last night (we got it from the Lego store in Disney Springs). I hope that means he will let me scavenge some parts.
