Hello,

I recently came across some gold sterling pounds and after a bit of asking around I still dont know what to do with them. Most people tell me to just sell them to a smelter, but it seems such a pity to sell these coins just to end up in the furnace.
My goal is to get most out of it offcourse since these coins have been bought in the past as an investment.

I can understand that these coins might be very common but I accualy dont have a clue...

is there any extra value above goldprice in these coins for any reason?

Should I melt them or try to find a collector for highest value

thanks

i got these coins

Victoria 1 x 1897, 2 x 1901
Edward VII 1 x 1902, 1 x 1904, 3 x 1905, 2 x 1906, 3 x 1907
George V 2 x 1911, 1 x 1912, 3 x 1928, 4 x 1929, 2 x 1930, 1 x 1931, 1 x 1932

so a total of 27 coins

thanks for having a look

Never sell good quality coins to a smelter -what are they gonna do anyway? Pocket them or what?
It doesn't make any sense - your coins are not bullion coins! They should therefore be worth more... sell them here or on ebay (set a reserve) or send them to an auction house...

G'day, if you sell them to a jeweller, you'll get the floor price, if that.
If you want more than that, you're going to have to research your coins, so you know what you're selling, and what the market wants.
My first question is: which coins have mintmarks, and if so, which mints ? These can have a very large impact on market value.

Are you able to post more detailed photographs? That would help us to be able to grade them for you, and help us to determine the mint-marks and a rough estimate of value for them.
