Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone has had any recent problems with centles on e-bay . I know about his NNC slabs being over graded . anything else with actually buying or bidding on his raw or slabbed coins .

I haven't seen his auctions for about 3 years. He's on my excluded sellers list.

Bought a few items from them in the last year, a couple NNC and a couple of others, apart from the optimistic grading of the NNC coins there were no issues.

(I assume you mean cent sles and not centles) The seller has 180,000+ positive feedback @ 99.8 positive, and honestly I think he/she gets a far worse rep than deserved. When listing, handling & shipping 1250+ items per month and you are doubtlessly going to drop the ball a few times along the way. Their grading has also changed since their self slabs are no longer "recognized" by ebay. They are handling way more raw coins, and in the instances where NNC slabs are being used the (overly generous) grades have been blacked out.

Wade. He was once a "good guy" that even won a national grading contest. He took his knowledge and is now purposfully overgrading and encapsulating coins, and usually details coins at that, to sell to unsuspecting people as something they are not for huge profits. If you think that's an ok business model so be it I guess but imo he is a scourge to the hobby.

I noticed that Centles has been offering a good number of ICG slabbed coins lately. I picked up a very nice 1911 Liberty nickel graded MS-65 by ICG from this seller last month for a real cheap price and was very happy with it. I've been watching some of the legitimately graded slabbed coins (not NNC) US coins he has had up for auction.

In my opinion the old saying applies here: Where there is a lot of smoke there is likely fire - this seller has a very long and questionable reputation on coin forums such as this one for decades. I'd start by checking out the archives of this forum and other like it. There are literally hundreds perhaps thousands of threads written by collectors that have felt they have gotten the short end of the stick from Centsles.
