I found this Wheat cent in a bag I was going through. Is this Struck Through Grease maybe? Or just post mint damage?

To me this looks way more like environmental damage, or acid damage.

I'm border lined on acid or heated damage after strike. Thanks, Doug.

It's either acid or heat, and it is a cent not a penny

It was heated with a blow torch. If it were missing the rim, then it might have been an acid coin. But I've seen these before. It was heated with a strong torch. Note the reverse is affected more than the obverse. So it was not done at once. Heated and flipped.

Not a grease issue either. On a grease error, the devices are not formed because of the grease blockage on the die. This was a normal coin and then ruined.

If you hang around here long enough, you'll learn a lot about numismatics. John1 is correct, it's a cent. The United States doesn't make pennies. Lots of people call them pennies, but the vast majority of them know very little about coins. When they refer to them as pennies, they immediately lose credibility. Sometimes they are snickered at behind their backs. It's your choice, but thanks to John1, now you know the difference.
