At the top of his head, and 180° flip, there is a date for 1980

I think you are looking a little to hard for things that are not really there. Are you saying a 1976 cent was struck over a 1980 Cuban coin? Sounds like some time travel may be needed for that to occur. How do you know it's Cuban? Just looks like a harshly cleaned normal cent to me.

Why do you think it was struck on a Cuban planchet?

Antt3377, I'm with Fuzzy & Dave on this, think your looking too hard and seeing things not there. That penny's pretty banged up and pock marked, like face down on sidewalk for a while, then cleaned. The damage and shadows play tricks, you ain't the first, done so myself!

Now you're showing us a Mexican coin last minted in the 1890's. It would be quite impossible for a nearly 100 year old Mexican coin to be accidentally over struck with a 1976 US cent. This is just a worn cent, with some damage that is making you think you see something, like when people see shapes in the clouds or on a burnt tortilla.

I think that I see a beaver, seal, and triceratops Just joshing with you @antt3377. Keep looking and I'm sure you will find an error coin. I agree with the others that this just isn't one though.
