I am not sure if there aren't a couple things going on here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

At first, I saw what I believe is MD but there are partially filled and doubled letters also.

Thoughts?

Interestingly I found (10) 2016 D with the doubling and then found a 2016 D without the doubling which means it is not ALL of the 2016 D but only some of them with doubling on both the Obverse & Reverse.

Thanks John1, I will defer to your expertise..it makes sense given the fact I found about 20 of them and only 1 that has no obvious doubling like the others - maybe the one without the doubling is the rare variety. :)

The Die Deterioration ones seem to be more and more common.
