coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 01/23/2017 09:48 am What I'm seeing on this coin is the direction that area is getting pushed. The metal flows toward the rim. The direction of the alteration is just the opposite direction. Pushed towards the center of the coin. That is what I'm seeing on this coin. An outside source if the only thing I can think of that could have caused that direction. Report this Post to the Staff

Hard for me to make out exactly what going on this 1982 as its gets dark in the area. If it is raised and follows the contour of the rim and flows back into the rim I think possible die attrition or may just be Die Deterioration. Can't tell for sure. Thanks, Doug.
