That is not doubled. The die was heavily polished and what you are seeing on the 'G' is a die flow line. This is typical for the 1988 RDV-005 as they dies were so worn out, the started using the RDV-006 dies early. They should have started to be used on the 1989 cents.

x2 on whatever Coop says! It didn't look like doubling to me, but I didn't want to be the first response and be wrong. I do think it looks like a die crack though. I'm seeing some on the cents I'm going through, and I wish I had your magnification capabilities!

It is a nice die crack!

1988 was also a year for a double ear lobe, keep an eye out for that when you are looking at 88s!
