Sorry for the best pics, but I can't seem to get proper lighting.

The line along the center of the coin going from left to right across the head is a mark (kind of like a pencil mark, and NOT a scratch or ding). But the mark behind the crown on top of it is a contact mark. From the second sets of pics, it looks like the coin has hairlines. But that's the flash being weird bouncing off the coin's surface.

Thank you

The mark through the middle sure looks like it displaced metal, zooming in clearly shows it in the last obverse photo

VF35 scratch, also seems like old cleaning. I am just not seeing the EF due to the flatness of the jewels, as well as the wear on the mustache.

Great coin if not for that very noticeable mark across it.

The "V" shows how it starts with a dent in to the right part of the "V",..then into the field and then the eyebrow has a slight displacement showing well in the 3rd to last pic.

The bottom pic shows metal movement in the ear and into the hair and following into the field behind the head.

So some kind of hit..sadly..

So would that be an AU with "Details"..?

.

Looked it under different light and yes it is in fact a scrape! :( Looked so weird when I first got it. Kind of looked like a thicker black line. But it's definitely a scrape

it's for sure not a VF. IMO more of a AU details. In hand it's easier to assess. I definitely had trouble bringing out the details in my pics.

I might send it to ICCS with a batch. it'll come back with a scratch designation but I want to see what they think in terms of grade

I'd go with 50 with the scratch noted, but they might bag it.
