Can you get clearer pictures of the coin? looks like the die possibly has part of a die chip between the 6 and 3?

The pitting on the face appears to be from hits with a nail, or an ice pick. Not an error, its PMD

It is a 68-D.

It has had a hard life

I wish you could see this on real life...i don't think an ice pick did all this pitting.... And as far as the date, it could be 1968 or a 1969 that had a strike error?

Hi,

I blew up your dime!

Darkened the exposure a bit . . and you're right, there is excessive pitting evident.

This coin was damaged after leaving the mint.

It is hard to make out the date.

It looks clad ... does it have a copper edge?

Date does not really matter .. if it is a 1965 through 1969 ... worth 10 cents.

My vote's for a 1969 with PMD from whatever source (not really important) that caused the pits or dings and the hits on the letters.

Hi Heather, welcome to the family!
with the above, a 1969D Rosie wit da pox! You know its not a '63, would be a silver w/ mintmark on reverse. And blowing up pix shows a hit on lower leg of a "9", 8's are a bit smaller on top. It is worth 10 cents, at least it was yesterday...
