I bought some of the 2016 50 grs, and while my prices were fair I'm wondering if it was a good buy. Later when I look at how they perform at NGC and PCGS I find that a small fraction, approx. 30% at best get PF70.
So I'm wondering, given the official mintage - however not confirmed of 20,0000.

1) What are your general thoughts about the 50 gr, is it worth it as a investment in a 5-10 year perspective?
2) Does the fact that very few get PF70 influence the price more than usual? I see that the bigger the coin the less the chance is of a PF70
3) Can one expect the first issue to be more valuable than the later, or will we see the same as with ordinary pandas depending on gold price
ces, actual mintage etc?

Over 1.6 ounce of gold and twice as expensive as the 1 ounce gold Panda. I am not sure about the popularity of these gold Panda or the PF70, only time will tell. These came out last year? BTW I love them Panda's! Any pics?

It is hard to say with these Panda proofs, past years have done well, but I mean like past past pasttttt years.

Right out the gate tho, the best way to buy these proof pandas is at auction, and I have seen and recorded data from both MCM and APMEX selling some at auction and the prices really come in on auctions.

There is a possibility of getting some edge from being the first of its series but not guaranteed. Also, coins, from an investment stand point, these modern numismatic coins are really impacted by both the prices of spot AND collector supply and demand.

So its key to understand what is a fair going market price to buy this coin and then one must understand what the supply and demand is.

I would suggest you try one of those China panda services where they can supply you with data of current going prices for that coin.
