Grade? Hope the images are alright. It's always tough to photograph through holders.

Reverse scratches on upper left bell stock, lower right bell, and from eagle to rim - are these on the holder? And 9-10:00 on the obverse field - on the holder?

These are micro scratches on the holder.

The marks on the reverse are on the coin.
Rest in Peace

MS63 , I'm guessing all scratches are on the coin .

TPGs are tough on Franklins. I'm thinking the reverse might hold this down to a 63, but perhaps 64.

It should not be higher than 63.

The obverse looks great. But the reverse, the bell in particular is not good. The writing on the bell is just not there at all. Even the crack is hard to see. They probably dinged you a point or two for that. Just my guess.

The whole grading thing is a mystery to me. Its so subjective. I see so many coins that the grading defies logic. I think other factors like who you are and how much you paid to have your coin graded have just as much impact on the grade as a big scratch down the middle of the coin.

Who can figure these TPG'ers out ? Many times when we try to guess a grade on a coin that has been slabbed we're sadly off .
