1970 Small Date? Doubled Die Obverse / DDO ?

Started earnestly in 2014, after over 650,000+ cents viewed, still seeking THAT one! I know Coop has the pix to show the differences, I'm not able to post links on this tablet. Basically here's shorthand, 1) "BERTY" is very weak (easiest to notice) 2) the top and bottom of 7 is even with 0 3) there is a slight bump on upper outside of 0. Look at your coin to see these difference, it helped me learn what/how to spot. Report this Post to the Staff

When the die is polished and part of the outline of the device get removed on the die, it leaves a raised area on the coin. That is what you are seeing there. If it were hub doubling it would affect probably more than that one area the same. You coin was struck with a die that had some previous alteration on the die.
