Ummm, yes they do. http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies...rstamps.htmlUnder raw coins....requirement: "The starting, reserve, or Buy It Now price for the coin is less than $2,500." And this is a clear violation of that policy.

Wow... ok. So then why is the listing still floating? Why wasn't it flagged and removed by ebay?

Quote:Typecoin, I'm probably in a stingy mood given my last purchase. But you have to admit, If this coin was sent to a TPG and graded as fine-details this seller would not be asking $4,750 for this coin. There is a reason it's not slapped. It would be fair to suspect it was slabbed at some point with a details grade. I understand the seller's strategy. But to list it as 'select very fine +' coin for $4,750? C'mon man. If I was in the market for this type, I'd do more research on grading and value. I was just describing the coin as I see it from the pictures. I do not see a harsh cleaning, but a relatively light one that was done 50 or so years ago. And raw genuine, problem-free five-digit coins do occasionally come to the market. They are almost always promptly certified (unless they are ancients or early US copper) so that the masses will accept them into the market. They would be largely ignored otherwise.

Whatever it was, it has been taken down.

Understood. Quote: Whatever it was, it has been taken down. It was a raw 1795 2 leaves flowing hair dollar advertised as very fine+ for $4,750. I imagine this community led to its takedown.
