Are my eyes playing tricks? Does this graining go in OPPOSITE directions per side? If so, has to be applied, not woody?  Please prove me wrong, looks really cool!

I think this coin saw some light circulation. there is rub on all the high points. when you look at the obverse you see nice luster and its gone from all the high points. AU58
