I have an 1873 Indian cent that has the hump on top of the 3 and the doubling on the 7 that readily identifies it as an FS-1301 or RPD-001, whichever you prefer. Interestingly, though, it also has the attributes of the FS-1302 or MPD-001, in which there is a 3 punched in to the first pearl in the necklace. If I could only choose one for attribution, I would choose the RPD because it's the more valuable of the 2, but I was wondering if double attribution exists, and if so, how the value calculated. Here is a pic. If you don't see the 3 at first glance, tilt your monitor back and forth and move your head side to side a little, and you will see it. there must be 50 different 3s there, but the attributable one is among them.

I think a few shots of Vodka would be easier!
You should be more aware of the "Longacre" doubling on the letters that show (or should show) in your pic!

Mark, I actually adjusted the pic a little to tone that down a bit. It's really a mess without it. I'm not quite sure what you meant by being more aware of the Longacre. It's everywhere on the obverse, as it is in the MPD photo in the Cherrypicker. So... is that good, bad, or is there something I'm missing here? I can relate to the vodka though! I I played with that pic for an hour on my photo program, till I was cross-eyed. I'm beginning to think that maybe Tolstoy copied "War and Peace" onto that die!

Here's a post from 1-23-12 on here. It shows and discusses Longacre doubling on Indian cents. This may be what you are seeing on the letters, like the "U" in your picture.?

The RPD-001 would be plainly visible on the entirety of the "3" without magnification. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

Yeah, at first I didn't put quotations around the "U" and it auto corrected to "you" when I posted.
