Bought a complete set of Indians yesterday and spent probably too much money. So when examining the collection in better light, the 1859 & 1860 look off a bit (color. Given I dropped a some change on the both, thought I check with the group and get your comments. The two weigh 4.67 & 4.56 grams respectively. I think they're both real (not counterfeit) but have concerns they may have been colored. That said, I'm thinking about dropping in Acetone and if colored, I'd assume the coloring would be gone quickly. Any thoughts on these coins? Here is a photo of Obverse and Reverse.

More than that. Where are you located? I bought from a local dealer in Indy.

Quote: Here is a photo of Obverse and Reverse. I only see the obverse. ps. May I suggest that you crop your photos before posting them so that they don't take up so much space, and we get a better look at the coins.

From the one picture, they don't look counterfeit. Better photos would be great.
The 1859 looks cleaned, and acetone won't have any effect. The value on that one is greatly reduced. At first glance, the 1860 looks ok to me.
How is the condition of the rest of the coins compared to these? Circulated or uncirculated?

The obverse photos aren't the greatest . Need sharper reverse photos before I comment .

Yes, please, that would help. When you do, also comment on how true the colors are.

These were copper-nickel, so a white-ish color is normal. Your later pictures have too much direct light on the coins, making authentication nearly impossible.
