Wanted some insight from folks less new to this that myself- I'm seeing some oddness on the left side rim where it looks like it has an extra ridge, and on the lower right edge, it just trails off and winds up edgeless. Is this an error, or just interesting damage?

Appears to be a MAD (mis-aligned die), not an off center strike.

It is a off center strike, but so minor that it is called a MAD instead. It needs to be at least 8% off to command much of a premium.

Can you show us the reverse? If the reverse is normal it's a MAD. If the reverse is off as much as the obverse it is a slightly off center strike.

The reverse and obverse will be identicle for an off center strike.. Your seems to be an Obverse Misaligned die.

Collectable MAD coins have the devices fall over the edge of the coin. Reverse are normal because the hammer die was not set in correct alignment:

Note the weakness on the opposite side of the coin?

With the mint changing the arrangement on some denominations, you can find the Reverse as a MAD on some coins.

So don't forget to look for strong MAD coins on the reverse or obverses.

Misaligned dies and Off-center strikes are different. A MAD will show misalignment on only one side. An off center strike shows on both sides.
