I hold no hope of getting the other farthing, but thought I would share this milestone.

They are buggers to get above F..when grading don't lower your expectations and don't believe blah blah grade for issue. All 3 coins are Poor/good at UK standards and I would certainly be sitting on my hands.

I never see them for sale, for auction, anything. I'll take what I can find for this date. Even the ones in Cooke's collection (Farthings) and Nicholson's Collection (halfpennies) had major issues despite being higher grade.

EF is quite right, 1698 is a difficult date to find for both the halfpenny and farthing so examples in any grade can be deemed acceptable. Although I also agree with Peter that they almost never appear in grades above Fine, personally, I would prefer to have a lesser grade example than none at all. There is always the option of upgrading should something better come along.
For the 1698 halfpenny the 'date in exergue' is the rarer of the two types being coined for a couple of months only. Here are two specimens I have. Interestingly you'll note they are struck from two different reverse dies.

Great 98's Hogarth! I would be proud to have either of those. Very nice. I have quite literally seen only the one I have, and one other currently on ebay that I just could not bring myself to purchase (awful), for sale in the past 4-5 years. I might have missed some overseas, but, I have been looking rather diligently, at least where I knew to look.

I'm pleased you like them EF.
I've just checked ebay for the coin referred to in your post. Wow, that's ugly. I know they're hard to come by but, even so, the asking price is silly for such a poor specimen.

I agree Hogarth, and while mine is not all that great, it is much better in hand, and I paid very little for it (MUCH MUCH less than that ebay listing), so I was pretty happy to have it.
