Been waiting for this for a while. Thought about at 100, but hadn't figured the right mental challenges (hints) I needed to use. 250 went by, couldn't decide on prizes. Now its time, why 333? Why not? Its one third of 1000, is more in line with being out of line, and matches my screen name persona. Now its even more, but soo...
First, who can participate. I like the idea of committed members. Spence's and dd27's idea for CCF supporters is a wonderful idea, but its not a requirement here, just a request. If you enjoy the forum, support it. We waste more than five bucks a month on plain junk, why not something we enjoy? My one requirement is that you use the prize to inspire. My desire is for the prizes to go to a new or fledgling collector, that could be you, siblings, grandkids, neighbors, anyone who may have a spark of the collecting bug that will serve as an exciting jump start into the world of coin collecting. This of course is the honor system. Once these prizes leave my portal, they become the winners responsibility.
There will be three prizes given, for there will be three separate answers. Each person may take a stab at all three or just one, with that one guess being final per each of the three topics, no changes will be allowed Enter your guesses carefully. I will start the contest after I have placed my initial hints within a story. Those who have read some of my posts know I like stories!
Here are the prizes. All are "starter" type collections, they aren't complete nor are they extreme grade coins, nothing fancy but a very nice boost for a beginner. For the category one question the prize will be a set of 127 Wheat cents from 1909 through 1959D. This set is basically complete minus the Key dates and some semi-keys. Semi-keys included are 09VDB, 10S, 26S, and the scarcer ones 11D, 12D, 13D, 31D, 32D, 33D. These are in tubes, winner supply's the storage format.
Second category prize is an incomplete folder of
Jefferson nickels, book 1 1938-1961 with 63 of 65 in place, missing only the '39D & '50D. It has all 11 silver
War Nickels. Third category prize is an incomplete set of Canadian small cents, 1920-2012, has 78 of however many it takes for a set. Please check pix for dates, varieties?

I will cover all shipping costs, winners PM me at end of contest with shipping address information.
The contest is a guessing game, seems A LOT of us here on the Forum are good at that! What you are to do is figure out from my initial clues these three questions. 1) What is my Birthday, (month, day). 2) What year was I born...and no, I was not spawned! 3) Which (if any) branch(es) of service was I in. Each person has one valid stab at each of these questions. You may guess one at a time or all in one post. Each evening I'll review guesses and notify any winners. This contest goes till all prizes won, hopefully not long! Internet researching isn't allowed, please follow the honor system. It is possible for one individual to win more than one prize...if you cheat, my drone-driver friend at DoD may just deliver a special package for you! One final comment, I've "earned" my screen name, I don't just think outside of the box, I play there!
STORYTIME My life has been quite the journey but I now have come fully back around, at times knocking the moral compass off a few degrees, but invariably finding my way again. I was a strange child that never understood why circles being round had no upside down. As I grew older, I felt highly compelled to enlist in the military upon graduating high school. Upon completion of my military obligation, I was given my thank you letter signed by a President that was no longer a President, boy what gratitude! Ah, Presidents, my very first years centered around a numismatically recognizable "feature" of one.
All the hints are there, the contest starts when this posts. I will check back tonight to field the complaints! I haven't decided if any more hints will need to be given, see how this goes!

BTW, the Canadian cents nor nickels have been checked for errors or varieties, not my bag...LWC checked only for RPM's.
