Since the 1919 was mentioned in the thread on the 1895, I thought that I would show you folks a nice example of Machine Doubling. I found this coin at least 10 years ago and have never found one that incorporated as many letters and, at the same time, had a Griffin R-8 D/P 9 as well. I have found many that just have the first letter or two of Cent and Canada offset, but no more like this. I have looked at thousands & thousands of 1919's and never found another. These were taken with an old QX Digital Blue micro. The 2nd "C" is the C in Cent and it continued on into the E & N but not as dramatic. Put this on your bucket list:

Yes Bill I do remember you posting about that coin on the old CCRS site! I have also looked to find one but never did.

Very very nice

Very nice oakie..

What confuses me a bit, you call it MD, tell me why it wouldn't be double stamped.

I'm sure some of the other members would like to know also.

Shafta ... click on the link that I put in the 1881 thread. It gives you a firm definition and photos of each kind of "doubling". Nevermind ... Here it is again:

Nice examples!

I've looked at hundreds of 1919s so far and have found only one good example with doubling on CANADA and the 9s in 1919

they are very scarce IMO
