Hello all! Picked this quarter up today and thought I'd post it to get some feedback on it. Unfortunately it's not in the best condition. The date is hard to make out but I believe it is a 1924 (please correct me if I'm wrong). It also appears to have a nice repunched mintmark. I couldn't find any listing on Wexler. Has anyone come across this RPM before? Any info is appreciated!

Almost looks like the "S" was dug out of the metal. Waiting for an expert on SLQs to chime in.
Rest in Peace

Does look like an S/S Southwest rotated CCW. 2nd to last pic shows well the uppertip of lower mm within upper sweep. I'm no expert on SLQ's tho.

I'm still looking for a pert, seems like a lot of "ex's" around here....

thanks Crazyb0. I was struggling to get a good picture. It is much more interesting in person. I actually noticed it with my naked eye. Just wish I knew if this in a known variety or not.

This absolutely looks like an RPM, and a particularly dramatic one at that. May you should reach out to a variety specialist like Ken Potter or the SLQ guru JH Cline. Congrats on a very interesting find!

You'd need a Ouija board to reach out to Cline. Let us know if you get a response.

I was unaware Mr. Cline had passed away; I spoke with him a couple years ago at Long Beach and expected he would be sharing his knowledge of Standing Liberty quarters for many years to come. His untimely death is not a laughing matter to me.
