Well I finally was able to acquire my first star note. It is only a $1 but it is a start. When I first heard of star notes I went through the change box at work and found a $1 and $20 but I dod not have any money on me to exchange them out. A customer paid off his $2,000 bill with all $50's and while looking through them I found a $50 star, but again I did not have enough money exchange that one out either. This one I got in cnage at Pizza Hut. I have only one question, is this considered a low serial number?

i dont think so. those with two zeros are pretty common. well atleast were I live. I dont think it would sell higher than it face becuase of its serial number.

Is it just me or does the "The United States of America" in the picture have rainbow letters behind it. I bet that is something to do with the scanne/picture

I was told that low serial numbers would be at least 4 zeros. Anything with 3 was uncommon. Nice find!

Nice start to your star note collection! I only find four or five a year, but have only my own change to look through. I think most star notes are filtered out of circulation by the time they would normally reach Bismarck, ND. LOL

Hunter,
I grew up in Fargo N.D. but now live in Iowa. Do you still have snow?

I have loads of these. I get them on a weekly basis at work. The majority of mine are ones and fives. I also found a twenty yesterday. So far, no 10, 50, or 100.

I got my first star note yesterday as well. It was a $1, not a noteworthy serial number but still pretty neat. I'm on the hunt for them now.

I have 1,2,5,10,20 and 50 star notes but most are 10's and 1's with only one 50 star and one 5 star note and three 20's. I even keep consecutive numbered notes I get from circulation also and bought ten 10 dollar consecutive star notes that should be here soon from a forum member. I just received 8 consecutive 20's that are in my stack of keepers but they aren't star notes just consecutive numbers
