This was given to me by my father who passed away several years ago. It was in an envelope labeled: "Alexander I Tetradrachm C150 BC Selukid Empire Found in Syria"
It weighs 15.1 grams and the Diameter is 28mm. After looking at 100s of fake coins, the surface texture worries me, also, I can't find a genuine or fake coin that matches it.

The legend on the coin is for Alexander I Balas, A seleucid ruler from 150 - 145 BC. However the bust doesn't look like him. I have my doubts about this one.

I'm no expert, but the porosity on the obverse denticles at about 12 o'clock is worrisome.
