Googling shows the palm tree having very feather-like detail on the fronds (leaves).

@dennman, ok yes I see that. But couldn't the OP's coin just have been excessively polished?

@dhc, ok thanks for the clarification, but I guess that my question is still unanswered. Was your coin polished so much that the detail on the tree was rubbed away (after leaving the mint) or is this an error from something that happened when the coin was made?

Ok Spence, for this time I guess this an error from something that happened when the coin was made. I have not brought it to PCGS for make sure, because I think they understand more about this.
