First off ...

I know this in not for the high end serious collector.

These are for the average collector that is putting away
some notes for fun.

I helped go through a large collection the past couple days.
Nobody wanted these notes so I picked them all up.

There were a few star notes I needed for my FRN type set.

There are a lot of duplicate notes .. but .. I like them.

A big surprise .. when I started sorting them at home ..

A 10 note run of 1963 B Barr notes.

Nice, GR58! When you say FRN type set, what do you mean?
Rest in Peace

Boy GR, that Barr-star note sure looks better than mine, mine is so used it's shrunk! Barr notes are popular.

How @ the $2, the 76's seem to be sort of of hot in online auctions lately, if you have any w/ stamps/first day covers. Any red seals or all more current?

Morgenthau $20? That's Depression era into WW2, a small market for them, I have a couple $10 in that era. If you want to let go of them, sure you'd find a buyer or two.

CK ... Not really sure what to call it ..

Just one or two from every series. Not one from every reserve
bank. Although I am trying to put together a 1976 $2.00
set of 12 reserve banks. I think this group completed that set.
Now maybe a 1976 $2.00 star note Federal Reserve bank (FRN) set.
(A through L)

Of course I do have examples of red, gold brown, yellow and blue seals, for my small size notes.

Best I could come up with is type set of notes.

There were some other 1934 A series notes, because they are
circulated they were not looked at that much. The silver certs.
and the United States notes (red seals) we get a lot of.

---------------

There were no first day issue post marked 1976 $2.00, but
I do have a few in my collection.

--------------

I would have to check my Barr notes .. not sure how many are Star notes.
But I do have a lot of Barr notes. On some things it is so
hard to stop at just one.

A 1963 series B
Federal Reserve note (green seal)

Was signed by Joseph Barr. He was only in office for something like 21 days.
When they first came out everyone was trying to get them. It was one of those
things where it was t the press and the general public was looking for them.

The bottom note in the third picture you can see the right side signature is

I never tire of those photos, GR58!

Pretty much how I have done it up to now. 1 FRN from every series, star, and BEP (where applicable). Federal Reserve Banks don't matter much to me at this point but I'm always on the lookout for upgrades (both condition and (relative) scarcity). Now that I've completed my FRN set, I'm focusing on graded FRNs and silver certs.

Yeah, but those aren't FRNs.

Nice collection..
I used to have a large Currency collection from Colonial to the F-* Web (that I thought was common at the time), & everything in-between..

When I joined ebay in June 1997, I was collecting ephemera from the 1700's & 1800's, purchasing 1700's Newspapers and legal documents, but not any currency as I was still using Mail Bids & placing bids by Fax on out of State Auctions listed in Coin World for my currency collection..

By 1998 I found that I now had access to error coins & currency.. I always loved seeing errors but never had real access until ebay came along..

I sold everything in one lot, and never looked back..

In the 19 years since, I found this was my Numismatic calling all along, and what a ride it has been..

Fast forward to your notes.. While my mindset is on Errors and Varieties, if I was about 20 years younger, I would consider putting together the following..

Set #1)
$1.00 Silver Certificate transition Signature Series set with the last 3 Series printed in 20K Sheet Runs on both 18 & 32 sheet stock when transitioning from the 18 Letter "A" to "R" plate position to the 32 Alpha Numeric plate positions A1 to H4 COPE overprinting..

Signatures & Series (18) & (32)

Priest / Anderson 1935F & 1957
Smith /Dillon 1935G & 1957A
Granaham / Dillon 1935H & 1957B

It is easy to convert the Notes serial number to its assigned plate positions.. Also, if both varieties can be found with the same Block, that would match my next recommendation below.

Set #2) 12 Note set consisting of the only 4 Blocks printed in 3 distinct Varieties - F/W sheet fed - D.C. sheet fed & D.C. Web-Fed series 1988A $1.FRN

F-N Block = 10 Runs (FR#1915) - 2 Runs (FR#1916) & 3 Runs (FR#1917)
F-U Block = 4 Runs (FR#1915) - 8 Runs (FR#1916) & 3 Runs (FR#1917)
G-P Block = 7 Runs (FR#1915) - 6 Runs (FR#1916) & 2 Runs (FR#1917)
G-Q Block = 7 Runs (FR#1916) - 7 Runs (FR#1916) & 1 Run (FR#1917)

It would be interesting to see what the younger/newer members think about putting together these two variety sets..
To keep costs to a minimum, I would focus on non-certified high A/U grades..

Wow ... I am amazed on the research you must have done to come up
with so much information.
