I like the different toned cents I started a set of lower mint state coins years ago as well the 40's seem to be the best years for them the nicest toned I've found with the orange green blue purple tone. It's hard to capture the true beauty of toned coins in picture's or scans but in hand they are sharp and you see the real beauty in them although they are not red. Report this Post to the Staff

Thanks for that doubleeagle59...I just thought that they had very nice colours and they were all in older little 1.5" x 1.5" holders. They look as if they hadn't been touched in decades. I couldn't resist and bought the whole group as 'one lot' 2 weeks ago.. They just looked so very nice and probably were put together many years ago by a dedicated small cent collector....
