Hi Guys, I have a UNC PL, Bottom Double Date 1996 2006 Canada Toonie that has a much darker inner core than any other that I have seen. The centre core appears to be almost silver in colour, but darker than the outer ring. The coin was removed from a PL set. All other coins in the set were normal colour. Can anyone out there shine any light on this coin. I have included a couple of pics showing the colour variance.
Sometimes there called the White Bear and they can be found in 2005 scarcer,2006 more common and 2007 scarce, PL Sets. Set collectors acknowledge them as a variety. There has been a discrepancy over the metal composition in the past and don't believe every thing you read about them.
