Miss, as you may know Lincoln cents made in 2015 are not solid copper. They are almost entirely made of zinc, with a thin coating (plating) of copper.
Now, if you take a 2015 cent and rub it on some course grit sand paper for a short while, you will start to see the zinc where the copper gets rubbed off of the high points of the coin.
What you have now is a doomed to (eventually) rot away cent, that I would spend. That is, unless you want to keep it to show to your family and friends what is inside of modern pennies.
