Quote: My set of $4 Stellas would greatly improve. Mines not bad, only missing 4 coins... I might add a 1794 dollar to my set, as well as one of them proof restrikes.

I would look at this Indian Head cent and say, "Well looky there, boys. Nobody bid on this beauty yet. Reckon I will. Don't care if the starting bid is $6,500."

Somebody would have to give me the lottery ticket cause I never buy one. Buuuut, I did find a $10 bill on the ground at Sonic today. Yes, my wife has it now.

I would use some of the money to hire a staff to complete my research into the Medals Of Mexico issued since Frank W. Grove left off in 1971, then publish the results in a "Volume III". If I won a REALLY big lottery, I'd buy a 1913 V nickel, a 1895 Morgan dollar and a $4 Stella. Oh, and a 1950-D Jefferson nickel which I still don't have.

Typical rookie mistake. You haven't been married long enough I guess. Here is how I would have handled it:
I spy a $10 bill on the ground and quickly point in the opposite direction. "Honey, look! I think that tramp is wearing the same outfit as you!" Once she turns the other way, I casually snag and palm the bill.

I would invest all the money in dividend paying stocks and then use the dividends to buy the coins and other stuff I like. I would buy a place out in the country with massive storage sheds and buy everything made in America before 1900. I live off dividends now, so I would just have more money streaming in without spending the seed money. If I won 20,000,000 I could buy everything I want just with a 5% dividend. It would be a full time job just guarding my stash. My "farm" would look like Fort Knox. There is something about seeing my dividends coming in that gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. No dividends from coins. The idea of spending the money that makes money for me just makes me cringe. Interest and rust never sleep especially compound interest.

My coin collection would not be the focus of my winnings as my children and grandchildren come first. However, I would buy the 'missing coin' in my large cent collection - the 1793 chain cent probably in AU or better.

I would do a Lincoln set in MS65RD and a 7070 in all MS coins. What could that cost?

Simple, depending on how deep my pockets were and who I knew...build another Louis E. Eliasberg collection. This way I could finally put one of those zinc cents in my collection!

I would actually go to a coin show and not feel totally lost and overwhelmed.... I would buy small gold coins and I would buy a Dahlonega gold piece.

Half Dime set in high grade, and maybe look for the 1875 and 1864-S $10 gold pieces.

If I won a lottery There are a few rare coins I would purchase. A few coins in my collection I would upgrade to better grades. Also buy or build a vault to hold my collectio,n so I could have it always on display when ever I wanted to look at it.

Of course, it would depend on how much I won. I don't buy many tickets at all. I think I ended up buying 20 or 30 when the Powerball got over $1B but otherwise, I'll pick up a Weekly Grand ticket every few months or so. Assuming it was in the multi-millions, the first expenditures with what I had left after taxes and such would be to pay off any debt, purchase a new reliable vehicle (I've never owned a new car) and finally finish building our house. After that, I would make a few coin purchases in high grade coin types that I like most, then invest a good portion (in what depends on when I win ). I will certainly then have a complete Jefferson nickel set, all in MS/PF! I think, though, that I enjoy the hunt the most. There's really no substitute for buying a 1999 proof set on a hunch and a fuzzy pic and getting a CAM cent. The hunt for deals will definitely continue...

If I won a large amount in a lottery, I'd give my entire coin collection away. I'd buy a new, bigger house, hire people to maintain it, buy lots of older cars and just go out driving them. Sort of like Jay Leno.

I'd buy a house with an indoor pool, remove water and then have a dump truck of straight from the mint modern coins fill the pool and then go swimming like Scrooge Mcduck. Once I get board after 30 seconds, I'd donate the coins to the local food pantry and homeless shelter. I'd then buy bunches of silver and bury them around the state for MD to find, maybe make some treasure maps for the local schools.. maybe I'd donate an exhibit to local library for kids to learn about coin history .. other then that, I might buy some rare coins to enjoy and then pass on to next person after I get bored..... I'm also clarifying that the size of lottery prize is more than generations of my family would need, so I can be as reckless as I want in this imagination
