Can someone tell how you can tell large 1970-s and small 1970s

this is a small date.look for a very weak liberty and 7 in line with the 9 and the 0.the 7 must touch this line.a straight pc of paper will do.

On mint state coins the easiest way for me is to look at the lower loop of the "9". If it points down toward the mint mark then it's the large date but if it curls up to point at the "7" then it's the small date. This doesn't work as well with the proofs since there's less difference and you need another coin to compare it to.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
