It is a copper medal issued in 1939 for the Royal Visit. It shows the route HRH's took while in Canada. These are very common and in the condition shown worth $2.

I believe it is a copper mint medal for the Royal visit. I think there is also a silver version.

In terms of value, your medal is likely worth $1.00 or less - it is not in great condition and it is common enough that much nicer examples are readily available to a collector who searches a bit.
