Found this in my relative's hoard; used some verdicare on it to conserve the coin. What is the grade and how much is it worth in your opinion? Thanks!

Xf. Carbon spots, heavy scratches, porosity/corrosion.
Not a very pretty coin.

Can't argue, just trying to be sympathetic.

I agree, it's not pretty and it's been cleaned and scratched, corroded, and circulated a lot. But if this is really a 1864 L and you can see the L (which I can't in those photos), then I bet this sad and abused little Indian is probably worth more than $5 or $10 even as a details coin. Seems like there is a way to tell even if the L is worn and can't be seen. doesn't the 1864 bronze have a rounded bust and the 1864 L and newer a pointed bust?

I'm with Bandsdean: XF details corroded.

Parts of the coin show EF details, but then it has environmental damage, very old physical damage and recent scratches. It all adds up to a "no grade" and very little value, unfortunately.
