Hello, I was looking through listings for some of the more recent doubled dies and many were the class 6, i.e. extra thickness, variety. I find these doubled dies to be especially difficult to notice much of the time. Is this the kind of thing that one has to make a side by side comparison of with a normal strike? I feel like my brain just assumes these slightly larger devices are due to later die states even when they aren't. Can anyone help me get better at identifying these? Thanks.

Most of the time on the class 6 doubled dies, the date area is where we start looking for this doubled die. On the '9' is often the first place to look: Note the 9's on these images. That will help you to note this DDO.

Good stuff Coop. That's simple enough that even I can understand.

What about these extremely subtle DDOs from 2015 LCs? Unless I were using really high magnification I can't imagine spotting these. Wexler describes a number of these as "strong extra thickness" which I guess is relative since the added thickness is probably about a nanometer all in all. Is this stuff even worth my looking for? I guess I'm just frustrated by searching for something so minute (to my eyes).

It's no fun when you get frustrated, There are so many more errors to search for , if one is giving you fit, move on to others. Such fine line distinctions won't translate into much, money or satisfaction, after a bit. Not worth the high BP! Why I stick to RPM's not 300x magnification, either it's there or it ain't.

I think that's a good policy Crazyb0. I suppose I should focus on enjoying my hobby after all. Sorry for the high magnification in these photos, but with my current options I'm limited. Anyways. This looks like doubled die to me. What do you all think?

We need to see larger image of the coin. Hard to say what it is for sure from the images that are too close.

Awesome! Thanks so much. =) My first doubled die find, actually. Could you speculate on the value of this?

That's a 750 percent return on your money. There are coins that can make that look small. =pt xl

Yep--it has to be the WDDO-006. The date spread and the notching on the bottom of RTY confirm it--congrats on finding one!

Yup! A no doubter from the first shot of the 20. I've had no luck finding any doubled dies, and for the recent minor stuff, the zero is the first think I look for. CoinMasters, that's 750x value. If we're going to percentages, that's 74,900% return!
