1. Which presidents were missing the edge lettering. I know it was mainly the first presidents but I think it was not all of the first presidents. For example it could have been 5 of the first 6 coins but it skipped president 4. So it was only 1-3 and then 5-6.
2. Could the second half of coins be considered NCLT coins since they were made only for collectors?

This is from an article I read about the missing edge lettering on Presidential dollars: Quote:The error is most commonly found on George Washington Presidential dollars. An estimated 100,000 to 200,000 were released into circulation. The error occurred less commonly on John Adams Dollars. For the next following issues the error became even less common as the US Mint modified their production procedures. So obviously George Washington had the most missing edge lettering errors with John Adams being in second place. From my understanding, missing edge lettering is possible in the rest of the series, but super rare.

It seems there are 16 coins missing their edge lettering not 15. Quote:Missing Edge Lettering error coins exist for each of the first 15 coins in the Presidential dollar series, from Presidents Washington through Buchanan. Even though it says this it later says this: Quote: It was met with a good deal of enthusiasm when two examples of the Cleveland (1st Term) Dollar, the second coin released in 2012, were found without edge lettering ushering in a new phase of Missing Edge Lettering dollar collecting. This didn't materialize. To date only 22 examples have been reported. So Cleveland would make number 16.

Think I'd rather have the doubled edge than have missing lettering. That's cool.

I wish these were reeded on the edge. Looks better than a smooth coin.

What is really interesting is doubled lettering with the second pass inverted. (One pass in Position A and the other in Position B. And yes they do exist.)
