Note the overall size of the mint mark. It is equal all around. The incuse mark on the top of the mint mark are what you are looking at. RPMs are raised from the fields. This is incuse on the normal mint mark. So it is just a contact mark.

Don't forget to weigh it. 1982 was the year they stopped making pennies out of copper. There are some rare 1983's that weigh 3.1g made of copper.
