I'm calling it AU53 ... problems? I have no problem with it. It's a dandy!
Nice coin with a denticle ding at C in America and second star on right has a few light scratches in front of it and above and something dark and minor going on at the rim behind that star.

I'm not seeing any wear. Looks mint state to me. Maybe some strike flatness on the cap and talons, but beautiful luster. I'd say MS-63.

This is a Coin best graded in hand. All of the center details of the obverse show some flattening, but those elements slightly more towards the periphery are strong. Possibly due to a slightly less strong strike at the center, which is often typical for this date. I see no hint of breaks in the open field luster, nor is there any hint of halo effect in any hidden recesses.

Mint State, 64. Beautiful example with exemplary eye appeal and having no distractions of particular note.

Wow! I love bust half dollars and that is a beauty. I'm at at least AU58 and hope it is actually higher.

Evidence of the slightest rub on the front drapery, eagle's top of head, lower ear lobe and some faint natural hairlining all point to a very beautiful slider AU58 for me. I would not be surprised to see it in a market graded MS62 holder.

It could be MS, but I am leaning more towards AU-58.

This is a very interesting coin. It was in an NGC slab with a details - spot removed designation. It sold for $940 in early 2016 at auction.

I think the spot was on the reverse to the left of the leaves held in the eagle's talon.

The buyer apparently cracked it out and submitted it to PCGS. It came back details - reverse tooled. Probably not the outcome they expected.

The coin resurfaced on the bay and it is currently offered for $825. I thought it was still high. I made an offer, but they didn't accept it.

Interesting journey for this coin. It is very attractive, but I'm not at $825. Much less attractive coins in the choice BU range sell for $2,500. Someone will buy it at this attractive level.

although the spot removal/retool is not in a prime focal area and in my opinion does not detract too much from the coin itself I can see how it would significantly affect the value of this coin given the high grade
