Surprised to see the 10 oz anniversary of confederation coins sold out. Even more surprised there is almost no buzz about it. Starting to wonder if that was a commissioned series and the bulk of the mintage will soon appear elsewhere.

CP direct ship has 0 now, maybe has some on the issue date.

Might be commissioned, true.
RCM recently actively re-uses planchet for 10oz coins (bullion as example).

But 1000 is very limited mintage, and the price not in the sky for people who could afford expensive coins.
The 'buzz' usually created when:
**many people want it and can afford, but can't get
**many people got it, and now following the price in order to resell.

And for this coin, the demand matches offering...

This 10oz silver coin price 999.95, so the Confederation Medal coin (899.95) is cheap!

Vimy coin 750 mintage - slightly more cost...both too expensive

Vimy coin with less mintage still not officially sold out...yet confederation is...perhaps the commissioned point is bang on...given limited buzz on both 10 oz-ers

I'm glad I held off on buying the overpriced rolls. There may be several different rolls with the same coins. I just learned of a company that will be selling an exclusive roll with a custom wrap.

I am holding off until they announce the July release.
There has to be something spectacular available for July 1.
In my opinion most of the stuff they have tossed at us to this point is garbage.

Yes, Idea is good - to wait for more items.

But in RCM point of view "spectacular" could be extremely expensive gold coins set, which in addition has average design.
Or for example tasteless (imo) 1oz silver coin shaped like 150-Anniversary symbol.

Worse case scenario, if nothing spectacular comes along, than I will have saved myself a lot of money.

Yes I think there's going to be a lot of Canada 150 whatever at liquidation prices on Black Friday and Boxing Day sales by December. It's still only April and already there's far too much in my opinion.

With only 1000 mintage, the RCM sold out quickly because they had only a portion of the total. After Canada Post and other dealers get their allotment, its anyone's guess how many the RCM had for sale. Maybe 300-500?

As for buzz, depends how you define it. In terms of ebay sales, no buzz. In terms of how great the coin looks, lots of buzz. People are raving about the Confederation coin the way they did about the Moon Mask set. BTW, that set did performed poorly on ebay too.

Canadian Coin and Currency has 59 subscriptions right now, down from 68 on Tuesday. Not exactly on fire.

If you are trying to sell/flip the 10 oz confederation coin don't even bother, 10oz coins are too hard to sell, especially when ebay takes a big chunk of your profits. Also the NCLT market is too oversaturated right now.
