I came across these Washington quarters and don't know if these examples would be lamination errors. At first I thought it was dirt but I let them soak in acetone and they did not clean up. Any opinions?

Stains. The coin at one time was new. Not that it has been out there for a time, it is just suffering a bit.

Really makes you wonder just what corrosive like Coca Cola or alkaline battery juice wound up on these coins...

Anything with acid, like salsa, ketchup, mustard, relish, lemon juice, orange juice and other acidic products can alter the surface on coins. (not ins a good way.
