So everyone, I have really been getting into this coin search for errors and other oddities. I happen to come across this 1964 penny and it seems that lincoln has a double eyebrow or guess you may call it "feelers" protruding out from eyebrow area. I can not find anything like it when I search on th internet. Debating to have it professionally checked out. It is not something on the coin is it? I can't imaging what during the minting process would cause that?

No its not something on the coin. It is actually part of it. That is why I wanted to put it out there to get opinions on having checked out.

A closer view might help on that area of the face?

Note sure what that could be. Is there any edges that look fastened to the coin. Of is there no line there?

What about the area north of the L ,Looks like something else happened there! Also west protruding from the shoulder, and 3 spots equally spaced under the bust. I'd love to see Close up good pictures of these areas!

It looks like there's a divot to the left of the raised, rectangular blemish in the field. That suggests that a small piece of metal was gouged up from Lincoln's eyebrow and relocated to the field. Subsequent wear has perhaps obscured the plane of separation between the metal shaving and the field.

Quote: Debating to have it professionally checked out. There you have it Burdine. That's exactly what it is. You just had it professionally checked, now that it's mentioned, I see it too. It was dug out, flipped over, and still attached on the left side. Hmmm... divot, that's a golf term I believe.
