Is it the same on the other side? It is not an error, but looks like someone placed an electrode on that spot. PMD

Looks like a hit into the coins surface as it slightly caught part of the 8 too.

Does it go to the rim? probably need to take tooth pick and get that black stuff off. But, it could be a lamination issue.

Can't quite tell -- does the indentation stop abruptly at the 8? Or does it affect that upper corner as well?

It loos like it's under the 8. if you look at the top of it you can see it extends past the top corner of the 8. I think the 8 was hit not by what ever this is as I think it would be cut much deeper into the 8. It also doesn't seem to effect the 1 at all. it honestly looks like a clash to me but not a cent clash... so what could it be?
