It looks slight MAD (mis-aligned die) on both sides.
To be off-center, the alignment has to be shifted in the same direction. Yours is off in opposite directions.

Can you see any thing else thats maybe wrong on either side besides where the n and I are touching on united.

Thanks you guys for the info. Here is a picture of some one cent coins that are different colors and there are a few wheats and three s mints to. The picture is the best I could do. Hope you guys like.  |

I think I see what you're talking about, and I'm pretty sure that's damage from circulation. Better photos that are closer to the elements in question could help us say with more certainty, though.
