Just curious on grades. The 54 appears to have been cleaned, maybe with sandpaper. They were a gift and still neat so I cant complain. Thanks AG.

Both coins have been harshly/improperly cleaned and are common dates. Details on the '54 appear VG8 while the '55 is around VF20.

The 1854 has Good sharpness, but it looks like it's been flattened and spread out to a diameter beyond its normal size. The rims are way too wide for a normal coin.

The 1855 has VG starpness, but has been cleaned and still shows environmental damage.
