Hi all :-)

I have found this 1880 one cent coin and I am wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it? I am unsure about its grade, value or history. So a little help would be appreciated :-)

Thanks :-) (Sorry for the poor quality photos)

So this is an 1880 Newfoundland large cent. At the time, Newfoundland was still a province that was not part of Canadian Confederation (it joined in 1949). This coin has is the Round 0 Even 0 variety I believe (the most common of the three varieties). The grade is tough to tell because of the blurry pictures, but around F12 is my guess. That puts this coin in the range of maybe $8 (if I had to guess).

I wonder some times if the Low O variety has many varieties in itself with the Lowness varied from one low strike to the next. Some O's just look lower.
Anyway, the photo is tilted and it kinda throws you off looking at the O. Its hard to tell if its even really any lower. If I had to give my opinion though, I'd say a minutely lowered O with grade somewhere around F12.
