I Found Another 2015-P Lincoln Shield Cent / LSC Doubled Die Obverse / DDO But Need Help.

CoinCents Pillar of the Community United States 3656 Posts	Posted 03/28/2017 5:20 pm Good news that I found another DDO but I need help on determining which one. Die markers are a problem. I was looking at WDDO-010 but I don't have all the die markers. None of the others seems to have the same spread and direction on the ERTY that mine has. I don't see any doubling on the date. CoinMasters Pillar of the Community United States 5964 Posts	Posted 03/28/2017 5:28 pm You don't have to have all the markers to have a match. You just have to have the variety. If it doesn't match, it's a new enough coin that it wouldn't be a huge surprise to find one unlisted. It would be nice to see the whole coin, so we could judge thickness. But, I can see a little bit of notching on the IBE (lower left) and some more significant notching on the lower left of the RTY. So what do you think then - worn die? Edit: Obv Pic - Don't know if this is going to help much, best I can get though. It is super shiny and the glare I just can't seem to get around. You could try diffusing with a sheet or two of paper, or a lower watt bulb. Nothing like experimentation and practice. lol Report this Post to the Staff

I have several of these that have doubling and all the die markers but an extra chip or crack or maybe the markers from two different varieties so I have just put them to the side hoping someone else was dealing with the same issues. You might compare markers with those dies to see if you can find any clues? The Die chip on the upper left shield is very common.
