Yes...they're listed in the PCGS population report:

Thank you CV I did find them while searching the PCGS site but it looks like they have it messed up with double entries with a few 1881 spur is under DPN, 1882 put the same DDO are together with same numbers.
A person will have to watch and make sure your coins are entered with correct numbers

(I can't under stand why they don't hire someone from the area that is in the know of Canadian large cents I think Rob Turner lives close to the PCGS office weather he's interested or has time but someone with knowledge of the Canadian large cent varieties is needed in there grading group.)

Many have tried before including Mr Turner..(his books alone would make it a "no-brainer)

Photos, details and accurate explanations, books, CDN prices and the representative and corresponding coins with detailed matching photos and matching book references .

My feeling is that they can't be bothered at this time.
Canadian coins are still small potatoes to them.. so they add a few (with some mistakes) and crawl along..

One other thing to watch out for, is that PGCS has different #s for RD, RB or BN. For example:

542153 - 1881H Repunched N RD
542152 - 1881H Repunched N RB
542151 - 1881H Repunched N BN

I usually just use the BN number and let PCGS correct it if the coin turns out to be RB or RD.

I agree with DEVLEC, I think PCGS is not really bothering to be very accurate about any of this...

The 1881H Repunched N encompasses at least 5 varieties: the strong N/N, Triple N, Spur N, Double Spur N, etc...

But dont get me started on the 5c 1906 and 1907 varieties...a disaster..

Nevertheless...it's still better than nothing...and at least now they have some of the major varieties covered...

They have the 1881H Single Serif N, 1882H Triple Hub Obverse and 1882H Double Die Obverse - which I believe are the rarest and also most interesting Vicky varieties...

I think the recent addition of the 1881H micro D has been great as well...also happy with the 1881H Single Die Clash, 1894 Thick 4, 1893 Triple 9...those are all great additions...

I agree with you and DEVLEC CV.

But as time goes on and more and more people are submitting Canadian coins they are going to have correct the way they think of Canadian coins and collectors wouldn't you think?
I also like what is in place now its a start I never noticed the different meanings for all the different numbers for red/RB/BN that's what confused me with the different #'s for the same year of coin.

I have found two 1881H SSN - took me about 5 years of hunting from 2008-2013

One, was a corroded, black and bent G-6 that I cherry picked from a junk bin at Nuphilex for $2 - I later sold it to the _same_ dealer for $200...
The other came from a bulk purchase of large cent Whitman folders, a nice VF-30. I sold it (quite cheaply) to a very good friend. It feels good sometimes, finding a rare coin the right home, rather than to the highest bidder...

Your 1896 Far 6 number didn't work by PCGS I just recently sent an order in for grading it has no number on my account view page.
I'll keep you informed as to what they do with it.

papeldog...here are my PCGS Far 6s...if they dont add the "Far 6" you can always ask them to review the order before it's shipped back to you, that's what I had to do with one of my orders:

CV: Only the 2nd one of the PCGS certs is the "actual" variety that ICCS was the first one to cert. I was very good friends with the owner of that coin and it was hand-carried to Brian at ICCS by the VP of CAND (who was also the editor of Trends). That specific reverse was supposed to be "standard" and all others had to be exactly like that. It is far far, high, and canted slightly CW. But since every working die for '96 was handpunched and some of the workers must have had liquid lunches, the 6's are all over the map .. near, far, high, low, CW or CCW cant. ICCS quit certing '96 fars, as well as CCCS .. how far is far? It is more of a genre or "class" of variety for the '96 than any actual specific variety... like the 9/8's.
